You need somewhere to decompress. Personally, it did everyone in my family a world of good to get out of the hospital for stretches of time, and to be well-rested.

Although the nurses all loved our sense of humor. They weren't too worried about the time she left so that was nice. And in the morning she had time to chill and get breakfast and stuff before catching the shuttle. And yes the waiting rooms there were totally uncomfortable. Too bad too, she left me right before anesthesia around am and had to wait all day to actually see me again.
They kept her up to date during that time but I don't think she even got to see me til pm or later. And of course I was still under. The nurses were awesome to her and even let her stay late that night.
Finally She did go back and get some sleep. Even the next day when i did kinda wake up, It wasn't for long. I don't even remember most of the day after. I do remember the balloons, cake, and ice cream we shared as it was my birthday, but hah! So yeah she had it way worse than I did in my eyes. That look on her face when they told her it was time for me to go in was absolutely unforgettable.
